We have 5 class levels
  • Basic 1: pre-literate, key words
  • Basic 2: semi-literate, key words
  • Beginning: emerging literacy, basic phrases

integrated skills class

This class is open to all of our currently registered students. Once per week students gather in this multi-level class to build community, language, and technology skills. Volunteers from the Boise community meet students from all levels, working to support lead teachers in lessons that focus on applying concepts from that week's General English class.
Volunteer

citizenship class

These are 5-6 week intensive courses for students who are in the process of applying for U.S. citizenship. Targeted instruction helps prepare English language learners to pass the U.S. citizenship test. To learn more, including when the next class will be offered, please contact elcinfo@jannus.org .

the elc is on whatsapp!

We have found WhatsApp to be the most accessible way to provide online instruction to students with low technology skills. For details on our unique online WhatsApp classes, check out our 2021 Intermountain TESOL presentation, "Our Pandemic Quest: Addressing the Digital Divide Through WhatsApp".
